These Air Fried Apples are mouthwatering good! They are coated in a cinnamon and brown sugar glaze and ready in under 10 minutes in the air fryer. They taste heavenly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 medium sized apples
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil melted
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350° Fahrenheit.
  • Core and peel the apples, then cut them into 1-inch chunks.
  • In a large bowl, toss the apple chunks with the melted coconut oil. Add the ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Toss until the apple chunks are evenly coated.
  • Arrange the apple chunks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  • Check the apples for desired tenderness. If you prefer softer apples, you can cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve warm on their own, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

  • The best apples for this recipe include a variety like Granny Smith, Honey crisp, Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Golden Delicious apples. Honeycrisp apples are my favorite, and that's usually what I pick if I'm not using a variety.
  • Oil substitutions: feel free to use melted butter or another neutral oil like canola oil for coating the apples.
  • Store any leftover fried apples in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
  • Reheat leftover apples using the air fryer (my preferred method) or in the microwave.
  • Switch up the spices: try using pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice in place of the cinnamon. Yum!
