These easy Air Fryer Salmon Bites are coated in a flavorful sauce, then air fried for a delicious crispy texture. They are prepared with simple, healthy ingredients and make an easy weeknight dinner the whole family will love.
1 1/2 poundsskinless salmon filletscut into 1 inch pieces
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper. Add the salmon to the sauce, mix well, and marinate for 30 minutes.
Remove the salmon from the marinade and place about 15 salmon bites in the air fryer basket, making sure that no pieces are touching. Air fry for 3-4 minutes.
While the salmon is cooking, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Allow the sauce to thicken for 2-3 minutes.
Once the salmon is done, brush the thickened marinade onto the bites. Place the salmon back into the air fryer and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Repeat the process with any remaining salmon pieces.
Notes
Use skinless salmon. It is much easier to make salmon bites in the air fryer with skinless salmon, and that is what I recommend using for this recipe.
Use cooking spray. In order to prevent sticking and ensure a crisp texture, lightly spray air fryer basket with nonstick spray or brush it with a small amount of oil.
Make a simple dipping sauce. Cooked salmon bites taste delicious on their own, but if you have a few minutes to prepare a spicy mayo for dipping I recommend it! All you need to do is mix 1/4 cup of mayonnaise with two teaspoons of sriracha hot sauce in a small bowl. You can also add 1-2 Tablespoons of water to make your spicy sauce more pourable.
Don’t crowd the basket. Make sure to leave room around your salmon pieces so that they can cook evenly and get crispy. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you will probably need to cook your salmon in batches to ensure even cooking in the air fryer.
Preheat your air fryer. I like to preheat my air fryer for a few minutes before adding the food. This ensures that the proper temperature has been reached and that your air fryer salmon bites will cook up crispy and juicy.
Don't overcook your salmon. All air fryers cook differently, so your cook time may vary. You can check for doneness by using a fork to gently flake the salmon. It should be opaque and easily flaked, but still moist in the center. You can also check your salmon with a meat thermometer; the internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Top your delicious seasoned salmon bites with chopped green onions, parsley, or sesame seeds for the finishing touch.
Storing and reheating: Any leftover salmon bites can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
