This Crockpot Angel Chicken recipe is a family favorite. Tender chicken breasts are slow cooked in a creamy sauce that tastes delicious served over a bed of angel hair pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. This is such an easy meal to put together and is always a crowd pleaser!
Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Add the softened cream cheese, butter, cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, chicken stock, and minced garlic into your slow cooker and mix until well combined.
Add boneless skinless chicken breasts to the crockpot and spoon some of the cream sauce over the chicken.
Place the lid on top and cook for 3-4 hours on high heat or for 5-6 hours on low heat.
Using two forks, shred the chicken into bite-size pieces and mix with the sauce. Serve over cooked angel hair pasta.
Notes
Chicken breasts or chicken thighs will both work great in this recipe and I use either one depending on what I have on hand or what’s available.
Feel free to use fresh or frozen chicken. If using frozen chicken, you may need to add an additional 1-2 hours to your cooking time.
Italian dressing mix comes in a packet and can usually be found in the salad dressing aisle next to the dry ranch dressing mix. The brand I buy is Good Seasons. Make sure you use this and NOT Italian seasoning-the spice!
Add some veggies. This is an easy recipe to add some veggies to, like canned or fresh mushrooms, frozen peas, or chopped broccoli.
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
