I’m always looking for more crockpot chicken recipes to add to our weekly dinner rotation, and this Crockpot Angel Chicken is a new favorite.

Y’all know that I love a good dump and go recipe with simple ingredients that requires minimal effort. If you feel the same (which I’m sure you do!) then you’re going to love this one!

All you need is chicken breasts and a handful of other ingredients to prepare one of the easiest slow cooker meals you can make. The chicken is seasoned with dry italian dressing mix and cooked in a creamy sauce that is so good you’ll want to eat it with a spoon!

My favorite way to serve this easy chicken recipe is over a bed of cooked angel hair pasta. It tastes delicious with rice or mashed potatoes also. My whole family devours this and I love it because it is such an easy weeknight meal! Try it and I be you will love it, too!

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Angel Chicken

ingredients in bowls on a counter top.
  • Chicken – 2-3 large boneless chicken breasts is what you will need. You can use fresh or frozen chicken.
  • Cream cheese – you will need 4 oz cream cheese (1/2 a brick) softened to room temperature. I like full fat for maximum creaminess, but this will also work fine with light cream cheese.
  • Cream of chicken soup – my favorite brand (and what I always recommend) for cream soups is Pacific Foods. Most grocery stores carry it. It’s a bit more expensive than Campbell’s or store brand versions of condensed soup, but the flavor and simplicity of ingredients (no weird chemicals) is well worth it.
  • Dry Italian dressing mix – this comes in a 1 oz packet and is usually located near the ranch dressing packets. The brand I buy is Good Seasons.
  • Butter –  I prefer to use unsalted butter as the Italian seasoning mix already adds some saltiness to the dish.
  • Chicken broth – you only need a small amount (1/2 cup) to help add some moisture to the dish.

Serving Suggestions

My favorite way to serve Crockpot Angel Chicken is on top of a plate of cooked pasta like angel hair, spaghetti, or fettuccini. It also tastes delicious over mashed potatoes or rice.

And don’t forget to serve your angel chicken with a slice of Air Fryer Garlic Bread or Dutch Oven Bread for soaking up that delicious sauce! I also like to add some veggies on the side, like a simple green salad, some Air Fryer Green Beans, or Garlic Parmesan Roasted Asparagus.

Tips and Notes

  • Chicken breasts or chicken thighs will both work great in this recipe and I use either one depending on what I have on hand or what’s available.
  • Feel free to use fresh or frozen chicken. If using frozen chicken, you may need to add an additional 1-2 hours to your cooking time.
  • Italian dressing mix comes in a packet and can usually be found in the salad dressing aisle next to the dry ranch dressing mix. The brand I buy is Good Seasons. Make sure you use this and NOT Italian seasoning-the spice!
  • Add some veggies. This is an easy recipe to add some veggies to, like canned or fresh mushrooms, frozen peas, or chopped broccoli.
  • Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
