Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce Recipe
Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce – homemade applesauce is super easy to make in your slow cooker, and only requires four simple ingredients! This is the perfect snack or treat, and tastes amazing when it’s warm!
Today’s recipe is coming to you by request of my five year old, thanks to all of the fun apple activities she’s been doing the past couple of weeks in Kindergarten.
Last week her class made applesauce, and she loved it so much she came home begging for us to do the same. So this weekend, that’s just what we did!
It’s been a long time since I’ve made homemade applesauce, and after making it this past Saturday, I can’t believe I’ve waited so long make it again!
In fact, the last time I remember making crockpot applesauce was when I was teaching my own kinder class about six years ago!
I’m pretty sure I’ve made it at some point since then, but let me tell you this; my house smelled amazing on Saturday, and eating a bowl of this yummy cinnamon-y apple goodness was such a treat!
I’m definitely going to be making this crockpot cinnamon applesauce a lot more often now!
This recipe is crazy easy, too. You just stir everything together and then let the magic happen.
When it’s all done cooking, I just stir mine up with a wire whisk or spoon. The apples fall apart easily and you’re left with a crockpot full of sweet and delicious homemade applesauce!
Oh, and this tastes AMAZING warm! I highly recommend eating it that way (though not steaming hot), but you can also let it cool and store in the refrigerator for later.
This crockpot applesauce makes about 6 servings around 1/2 cup each, which is perfect for our family to eat over a few days time. You can definitely double this recipe if you’d like to make more applesauce, though!

It was easy to make and my house smells great. Just wandering if I can freeze it in glass pint jars?
Yes you can definitely freeze it!
This was my first time ever making homemade applesauce. I’m a huge cinnamon lover, so I doubled the cinnamon in this recipe and it is HEAVENLY!
I make this in my classroom every fall and we talk about harvest. It makes the whole room smell amazing and it tastes even better. I add a tablespoon of 2 of lemon juice to it as well and it just makes it even better. Highly recommend this recipe!!
Was this amount enough for your entire class? I have 16 kindergarteners.
My 22 year old son absolutely loved this when he tried it today, cannot believe how good it is to be so easy to make. I agree!
This is delicious! I scored 2 bushels of apples and wonder if I can cook it and then freeze it in airtight containers…..?
Yes you can definitely freeze it!
Could u water bath can this recipe? Looking for a good cinnamon applesauce to can.

I used 6 pounds of small Gala apples with 6 cinnamon sticks without sugar or water and the sweetness and juice from the apples made a perfect consistency.
This was so delicious I’ll never buy applesauce at the store again. How many days can it keep in the fridge after you make it?
It should be good for up to a week in the fridge. I’m so glad you enjoy it!
This is the best applesauce I’ve ever had! My son and his friends were home for Fall break and all of them said the same! I love that it’s so easy to make and it mixes so well with a whisk at the end. This will be my go to recipe!!
I’m an Orthodox Jewish woman and cook for many holiday meals throughout the year . I often make applesauce for dessert . I used to make it in a pot. But this recipe has saved me stove top space during a busy cooking day and we absolutely love the flavor and texture . I am standing in my kitchen right now and just put up a double batch before I start I go to work for a few hours .
I highly recommend this recipe. The only negative feedback I’ve received was that perhaps it doesn’t need to be so sweet. So I half the sugar amount .
I use Cortland apples
