Crockpot Chicken and Noodles
Crockpot Chicken and Noodles – a comforting, home cooked meal made right in your slow cooker. Creamy noodles and juicy chicken are cooked in a savory sauce for a meal the whole family will love!
Hey there, y’all. I know it’s been been awhile since my last recipe post, and I apologize for that. Even though I’ve been feeling better sickness-wise over the past couple of months, my energy level has seriously tanked.
This pregnancy has truly thrown me for a loop and I am in countdown to baby-time! I’ve got roughly seven weeks to go and could not be more ready to meet our little guy!
Something that has been helping, at least where meal times are concerned, has been my trusty crockpot.
I’ve been making a lot of our slow cooker favorites, including Cheesy Crockpot Tortellini, Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, and Loaded Potato Soup.
I have gotten so achey and uncomfortable over the past few weeks, and my feet and back throb by the end of the day.
Standing over the stove making dinner feels like torture on my sore body, so being able to throw everything I need to make this Crockpot Chicken and Noodles into the slow cooker at the beginning of the day has been a lifesaver.
These Crockpot Chicken and Noodles are a family favorite and I’ve been making it for awhile now.
I use the same spices in it that I do for my Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings, and it creates a deliciously savory sauce for the chicken and noodles to cook in.
My kids devour this one, and it tastes SO good as leftovers the next day, too.
We usually eat this with either a salad or some roasted veggies like broccoli or asparagus. There are never any complaints at the table when I make this!
Now, this recipe does use cream of chicken soup. While I know not everyone is crazy about cream soups these days, I actually have a brand that I really like and that doesn’t contain a lot of junk in the ingredients list.
If you’ve never tried the Organic Cream of Chicken Soup from Pacific Foods, it’s really good stuff! It has great flavor and I feel a lot better about the ingredients, too.
I like to use it in my Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings recipe, too, and also in Slow Cooker Loaded Potato Soup.
Recipe: Crockpot Chicken and Noodles
Ingredients
- 1 1/2- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cans (or boxes) cream of chicken soup, 10.5 oz each, (don't add water)
- 1-2 tsp dried parsley
- ½ tsp seasoned salt
- ¼ tsp poultry seasoning
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 stick butter,, sliced
- 3 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 8 oz. egg noodles,, uncooked
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot, then top with the soups (no water added) and sprinkle with the spices. Add butter slices to the top, and pour in the chicken broth.
- Cook over low heat for 5-6 hours, or high heat for 3-4 hours. Remove the chicken from the pot and shred into large chunks with two forks.
- Add the shredded chicken back to the pot along with the dry egg noodles and stir. Continue cooking for 30-45 minutes, until noodles are tender. Enjoy!

Question: Mine is done and has a Very good flavor but it is definitely not as thick as it shows in the picture when itโs done. Do we let it sit to thicken up or did you guys drain the juice??
If you put the noodles right in the crock pot for the longest time it will thicken up
I haven’t made this recipe yet, but in order for my other recipes to not get so runny, I place papertowels under my crockpot lid to catch the water from steam to not add extra liquid into my recipe. This keeps my sauce thicker.
The family really enjoyed this simple easy recipe.
Very good. We make it all the time. Its one of my daughters favorites. I add carrots and corn to it as well ๐
Made this a few times and itโs SO good as is! If I want to throw in some soup or mixed frozen veggies, should I do that towards the end?
Yes, in the last hour!
Made this today. Didnโt have chicken stock so I used 2 chicken bouillon cubes and boiling water instead. Also used two thighs and a breast because I didnโt have enough breast in the freezer. I just pulled the bones out at the 4 hour mark. I used extra wide dried egg noodles. They took about 45 minutes to soften after I added them.
Paired it with homemade butter biscuits and my picky kids loved the whole thing.
Iโm actually going to start cooking this one today. It sounds and also looks delicious!! Thanks for the help ladies!!

Great flavor and very easy to make! I highly recommend!!
Have made this several times. It is so easy & delicious.. like chic-dumplins! We serve with cranberry sauce on side.
The sauce was delectable until I added the noodles. 25 minutes way too long. Cooked to mush. Did you use fresh or dried noodles? I regret not checking the noodles earlier..
I use dry noodles. All crockpots cook a little differently, so yours just might not need to cook as long at the end.
Made these again. Cooked the noodles separately. This is freaking delicious
It’s ok. I followed the recipe exactly. Not a whole lot of flavor, but it is a nourishing cold weather meal. I’m going to put it over some mashed potatoes & see if that gives it a more satisfying flavor. Smells great while it’s cooking.
I put it in my electric pressure cooker on the chicken setting and it turned out perfect.
Simple, easy to make and quite good.
Not overly exciting, but good solid food.
Used fettuccine instead of egg noodles and used no butter.
Diced 2 medium potatoes, one medium onion and chopped 3 carrots.
Put fettuccine in for 45-60 minutes at the very end.
I used the low setting for it all.
Can u add like frozen peas and carrots in? And when would u add them?
Yes you can! I’d add them in the last hour of cooking.
So you made a different recipe lol.
This was delicious . The only thing I did different was chunk the chicken instead of shredding.
Is the cook time the same if I half the recipe?
Yes!
Got mines cooking now in the croch pot!!
This was amazing!! I one had one can of cream of chicken. So I used a can of cream of mushroom and a can of cream of chicken. This was a huge hit with the family.
Too funny! I was in this same situation and came across your comment. Thanks for sharing. Mine is in the crockpot now!! I just won’t tell the kids about the mushroom part ๐
I’m making it now and also only had 1 can cream of chicken ..but I had 1 can of cream of broccoli so added that for second can . Smells good.
Got it cooking now my house smells delicious cannot wait to dig in ๐
