Crockpot Chicken and Noodles
Crockpot Chicken and Noodles – a comforting, home cooked meal made right in your slow cooker. Creamy noodles and juicy chicken are cooked in a savory sauce for a meal the whole family will love!
Hey there, y’all. I know it’s been been awhile since my last recipe post, and I apologize for that. Even though I’ve been feeling better sickness-wise over the past couple of months, my energy level has seriously tanked.
This pregnancy has truly thrown me for a loop and I am in countdown to baby-time! I’ve got roughly seven weeks to go and could not be more ready to meet our little guy!
Something that has been helping, at least where meal times are concerned, has been my trusty crockpot.
I’ve been making a lot of our slow cooker favorites, including Cheesy Crockpot Tortellini, Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, and Loaded Potato Soup.
I have gotten so achey and uncomfortable over the past few weeks, and my feet and back throb by the end of the day.
Standing over the stove making dinner feels like torture on my sore body, so being able to throw everything I need to make this Crockpot Chicken and Noodles into the slow cooker at the beginning of the day has been a lifesaver.
These Crockpot Chicken and Noodles are a family favorite and I’ve been making it for awhile now.
I use the same spices in it that I do for my Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings, and it creates a deliciously savory sauce for the chicken and noodles to cook in.
My kids devour this one, and it tastes SO good as leftovers the next day, too.
We usually eat this with either a salad or some roasted veggies like broccoli or asparagus. There are never any complaints at the table when I make this!
Now, this recipe does use cream of chicken soup. While I know not everyone is crazy about cream soups these days, I actually have a brand that I really like and that doesn’t contain a lot of junk in the ingredients list.
If you’ve never tried the Organic Cream of Chicken Soup from Pacific Foods, it’s really good stuff! It has great flavor and I feel a lot better about the ingredients, too.
I like to use it in my Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings recipe, too, and also in Slow Cooker Loaded Potato Soup.

Hello
I just bought the ingredients for and about to start it. After you remove the chicken and put in the noodles is there a ton of liquid left? My husband is worried it will be more of a soup.
This was so delicious. My daughter and I loved this easy dinner. And ate the leftovers. I followed the recipe and it turned out perfect.
Yay!!
Making this now for dinner any thought on what to have with this?
Hi Robert! We usually eat this with a big salad, steamed broccoli, or I have a recipe for Garlic Parmesan Roasted Asparagus that is good with it also! https://belleofthekitchen.com/garlic-parmesan-roasted-asparagus/
Made this yesterday and my daughters and I thought it was very good. Youngest daughter thought would be good with some added veggies. I agree with her so next time will try adding some. My question is would I need to add a little extra broth or would it be ok as is?
I think it would be fine without any extra broth!
Hi! Loved this recipe, it was SO good! Quick question…because Iโm on weight watchers, i know this recipe is one Iโll need to portion out (unfortunately lol)…i see it says 8 servings. Any idea what a serving would be in terms of cups? Like 1 serving is 1 cup? Thanks a bunch!
Hi Lauren! I haven’t measured the amounts on this, so I can’t say for sure! It would probably be slightly more than a cup, but you might want to divide it into portions to be sure!
This sounds delish. Can it be cooked and shredded the night before then add uncooked noddles and slow cook for luncheon?
Hi Marie, I’ve never tried it like that, so I can’t say for sure. ButI’m thinking it should work just fine.
Hello Ashlyn, Iโm making this right now. It looks so good. Iโm just now learning how to cook so sorry about my question but Iโve had it on the cooker for 2 hours now and it seems pretty watery, is that normal at this point?
Thank you!
Hi Eryn! Once you shred the chicken and the noodles cook in the broth, it will get absorbed by the noodles. Hope you enjoy it!
Do you know how this would work in the instant pot? I bought all the ingredients forgetting that my husband had broken my slow cooker pot and wanted to make it tonight ๐ I know I can do it in the instant pot but not sure exactly how long/what settings/when to add what etc…
Hi Amy, so sorry but I haven’t tried this one in the Instant Pot yet. It’s on my to-do list. I couldn’t confidently give you instructions for it since I haven’t tried it out yet. If I do I will let you know! Or if you give it a shot, let us know how it went!
I made this tonight for dinner and it was AMAZING! The flavor was perfect, and I actually used this as a base for what I like to call “Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole”. I cooked this recipe as is in the crockpot, and when I got home I added canned mushrooms and peas, and some milk to loosen everything. I mixed this all together, put it in a large dish that I’d sprayed with cooking spray, topped it with Italian cheese, breadcrumbs, and put some melted butter on top to get a nice brown crust. It’s amazing!!
That sounds amazing!!!

I made the Chicken and Noodles today I had half a bag of frozen peas and added that when I shredded the chicken and added the noodles I had to tweak the recipe a little as I used 4 1/2 pounds of chicken. The results were awesome! My 3 kids loved it I loved it! It’s definitely one I shall make again and again.
So glad to hear it, Jackie! Glad your kiddos loved it, too!
Hi, I made this for my family last night with my own twist. I used cream of mushroom soup and added chopped onions & green peppers on top of the meat. Otherwise, I followed your recipe & it turned out great! It was a winner with my family! Ashlyn, thank you for sharing!????
What size crockpot did you use for this?
I use a 6 quart.
This dish is one of our favorites! We forgot to refridgerate the left overs overnight. :(. Good to eat or should we toss them?
Oh I hate when that happens!! Probably best to be on the safe side and toss them, though. ๐
We loved this and it was sooooo easy to make! Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed it!
This is my new favorite meal! Made this for me and my husband and we loved it! So easy and we can eat it for days! I just add extra chicken so 2.5 lbs so we will have plenty. Itโs great meal prep! The first time I made it, I only had about 2 cups of chicken broth left so even though it says not to add water I put water in place since it calls for 3.5 cups. Still came out delicious and donโt think I noticed any difference! This is a must try recipe!!!
So glad y’all enjoyed it, Rebecca!
Made this for dinner tonight! Added some diced carrots and celery, as well as thin egg noodles! Amazing!!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Christine!
