When it comes to cookie recipes, these Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are hard to beat. They are the best of both worlds; chewy chocolate chip cookies combined with the classic, irresistible Oreo.
They are stuffed with Oreo chunks, melty white chocolate chips, and are baked until super soft and chewy. Pair them with a tall glass of milk and I swear it doesn’t get any better!
And not only are these oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies delicious, they are also really simple to make. I have to tell you that they are probably my family’s favorite cookie recipe. I’ve been making them for many years, and I get requests to make them all the time.

One little tidbit for you; the dough for these cookies is SO DARN GOOD. I know I shouldn’t advise eating raw cookie dough, which I’m not.
However, if you too like to live dangerously and enjoy some unbaked cookie dough from time to time, you will not be disappointed here! It’s my favorite cookie dough. It also requires no chill time! Win win!
Ingredients Needed for This Oreo Cookie Recipe

- Butter – I recommend using unsalted butter. You will need two whole sticks of room temperature butter.
- Sugar – I like to use both white sugar and brown sugar for a nice, chewy texture. You can use light or dark brown sugar.
- Eggs – you will need 2 large eggs. Be sure to allow your eggs to come to room temperature first, as they will blend into your batter much more smoothly. Pro tip: If you are short on time, simply place your whole eggs in a mug or small bowl of warm water for about five minutes before cracking and adding to the batter.
- Vanilla extract – gives depth of flavor to your oreo cookies. You can also use vanilla bean paste instead.
- Dry ingredients – you will need all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt for baking your Oreo cookies recipe.
- Oreos – you will need about 20 regular Oreos, chopped into small pieces for the cookie dough batter. I also like to reserve a few extras to make Oreo cookie crumbs for sprinkling over fully baked cookies at the end.
- Chocolate chips – I like to load my dough up with plenty of white chocolate chips, but you could also use semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
How to Make Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies – Step by Step

In a large bowl, blend together the softened butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla over medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute.

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to butter/sugar mixture, beating over low speed. Scrape the bowl then beat over medium speed for another 30 seconds until well-combined. Dough will be very thick.

Using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, carefully stir in the chopped oreos and white chocolate chips by hand. Use a large cookie scoop to portion the dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each) and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake cookies at 350 degrees for about 10-12 minutes, then remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a cooling rack. Enjoy!

Tips and Notes
- Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper. This will help your cookies to bake evenly and prevents excessive spreading. It also makes clean-up nice and easy.
- Substitutions: these Oreo chocolate chip cookies are great with any variation of chocolate chips and Oreos you would like! I made this batch with white chocolate chips and regular Oreos, but they are also delicious with semi-sweet chocolate chips. I also love trying out different flavors of cream cookies, like golden Oreos, mint Oreos, etc. or the seasonal varieties. The only kind I don’t recommend using is double stuff oreos, as they have a bit too much cream filling.
- Reserve some extra chocolate chips and Oreo crumbs to add to the tops of the cookie dough balls right before baking for a pretty finish.
- Store baked and cooled cookies in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days. You can also freeze your cookies in a freezer safe container or ziploc bag for up to three months. Thaw on the counter top before enjoying.
