The air fryer has easily become my favorite kitchen tool. I use it almost daily, and making simple recipes like Air Fryer Broccoli has helped make the dinner time rush so much easier.
I’ve admitted here before that side dishes sometimes go by the way side at my house. My main focus is usually on preparing our main dish, and after that sometimes I’m too spent to attempt anything else!
But that’s where the air fryer comes in and saves the day, and it can do the same for you! It’s really my favorite way to cook any kind of veggie, especially my kids’ favorite: broccoli!
Yes, y’all, Air Fryer Broccoli has taken the place of roasting broccoli in the oven for me. It’s a lot faster, yet comes out just as delicious, crispy, and tender.
I love to serve this crispy air fryer broccoli as a side dish with Shake and Bake Pork Chops, Double Smoked Ham, or Baked Cheese Manicotti. But it really pairs well with almost any main dish!

How to Cook Broccoli in the Air Fryer
A full list of ingredients, measurements, and instructions are located in the recipe card below.
Step 1: Preheat Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Season the Broccoli
Whisk the oil, parmesan, lemon juice (if using), minced garlic, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl. Toss in the broccoli and mix until evenly coated.
Step 3: Air Fry
Arrange the broccoli evenly in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the broccoli is cooked and crispy. Sprinkle with a little more parmesan cheese if desired, and serve.
Tips and Notes
- The Air Fryer I use and recommend is the Instant Vortex Air Fryer. I LOVE mine!
- The lemon juice is optional. It gives a nice brightness to the broccoli, but you can leave it out if you don’t have any on hand or for a simpler version of air fried broccoli.
- Preheat your air fryer. I like to preheat my air fryer for a few minutes before adding the food. This ensures that the proper temperature has been reached and that your veggies will cook up perfectly.
- Shake the basket a few times. This will help to ensure even cooking and that all surfaces of your broccoli get equally crispy.
- To make this vegan, omit the parmesan cheese.
- How to store: Any leftover broccoli can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
