Watermelon Lemonade
This Watermelon Lemonade is delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. Plus with only 4 ingredients, it’s easy to make so you can get back to relaxing!
Do you have a favorite summer time drink? When I was pregnant with my daughter last summer, lemonade was my drink of choice. I craved it like crazy! It kind of took the place of my favorite iced coffees. Though I wasn’t quite able to completely give those up… 😉
While good old fashioned lemonade always seemed to hit the spot, I started experimenting with other flavors. I was eating a lot of watermelon, and had tried out a Watermelon Agua Fresca, which is basically just pureed watermelon and cold water. I have to be honest, I just wasn’t crazy about it. It was ok, but I was just wanting something a little bit sweeter.
I suddenly realized that watermelon lemonade seemed like a really awesome combination! And ya know what? It really is!
This is another VERY simple recipe. Those are my favorite kinds here at Belle of the Kitchen. 🙂 You just need watermelon, lemon juice, sugar, and water. Some ice cubes are great, too. Oh, and a fun straw. That’s a very important ingredient! 🙂
I love this Watermelon Lemonade because not only is it simple and tasty, but it makes me think of home, too. Georgia is one of the biggest producers of watermelon, and it’s a very common sight to see watermelon farmers pulling tractors brimming with the delicious juicy fruits in the summer months.
All you do is blend some chopped watermelon and lemon juice together in your blender till nice and smooth. Add it to a large pitcher with some sugar and cold water, and stir. That’s it! Told ya it was easy.
You can definitely strain your watermelon after you blend it, but I chose not to. Mine was blended really well and I had zero little chunks. Plus, straining would make this recipe complicated. And like I said, this is all about easy!
Hope you’re having a great week, and can sit back and enjoy a little Watermelon Lemonade. It’s a nice way to relax this summer. 🙂

I absolutely love anything watermelon. The other day I had a watermelon freeze at a restaurant and it was probably the most refreshing drink I ever had. I was debating between the watermelon freeze and the watermelon lemonade, so I will definitely have to try and make the lemonade.
Wow, a watermelon freeze sounds absolutely amazing! I hope I come across one of those sometime!

Good Morning Ashlyn, I used to live in Cyprus and during the summer months water melons were in abundance. They were lovely eaten sliced, but I wish I had your recipe for watermelon lemonade as I would have loved it. I am certainly going to be making this lemonade when watermelons arrive on our shores here in England.
I popped over to visit you from Miz Helen’s Country Cottage and I have enjoyed my visit so much that I am a new follower on Google +. So from an older, ex-army wife, to a young army wife have a wonderful day.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Daphne, thank you for your lovely comment. I am so glad to have you here! Cyprus sounds beautiful, I would love so much to visit there, and England has always been on my travel bucket list. I always love meeting other army spouses, current or otherwise! It’s a life like no other. I hope you enjoy this once you are able to make it. 🙂
I have to admit that I love watermelon agua fresca. But this sounds even better! Will definitely have to try this!
Hope you enjoy it, Kat! Thanks so much for visiting!

Yum! I need to pick up a watermelon ASAP! On vacation, recently, I had a watermelon lemonade mojito and I just can’t seem to get that drink out of my head. I totally want to recreate it!
