Whenever I need a crowd pleasing appetizer, this Pizza Dip Recipe is one of my favorites to cook up. It takes mere minutes to prepare, and then it seems to disappear just as fast once it’s out of the oven.
It’s all because this Pizza Dip is simply AMAZING. Seriously. You need it in your life!
I started making this pizza dip recipe many years ago for my family, and mostly with my son in mind. My son loves pizza; it’s his absolute favorite food. When he was a lot smaller, his other favorite food was crackers, so this was the perfect combination of the two. If you gave that boy Pepperoni Pizza Dip, he was in pizza heaven!
Really, this dip is so good and easy to make. It’s the perfect hot appetizer for a party or get-together, especially with football season finally here. Make it and I bet you’ll love it!
Ingredients You Need for Pizza Dip
- brick style cream cheese
- sour cream
- oregano
- garlic salt
- pizza sauce
- mozzarella cheese
- pepperonis
- Italian seasoning
- chips/crackers for dipping
How to Make this Pizza Dip Recipe – Step by Step
Step 1: Mix ingredients
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine the cream cheese, sour cream, oregano, and garlic salt in a bowl and mix well. Spread into the bottom of a 9 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Bake for 10 minutes
Spread the pizza sauce over the top, then top with a few pepperonis. Bake for 10 minutes.
Step 3: Add cheese
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the cheese and top with more pepperonis. Bake for an additional 7-8 minutes
Step 4: Broil
Turn on your oven’s broiler and cook the pizza dip for 1-2 minutes to crisp up the pepperonis (watch carefully so they don’t burn.) Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips and Notes
- Use brick style cream cheese. It melts nicely and will give you the best creamy and rich taste.
- For best texture: make sure your cream cheese is completely softened so it fully incorporates. You don’t want to end up with lumps of cream cheese in your pizza dip.
- Use marinara in place of the pizza sauce. I do this sometimes when I don’t have pizza sauce on hand. It tastes just as good!
- Topping ideas: Feel free to add any additional toppings to your pizza dip that you or your family enjoy, such as mushrooms, green peppers, olives, chopped onion, etc.
- Storing: Any leftover pizza dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. Reheat either on the stove over low heat, in the microwave at 30 second intervals, or in the crockpot using the “warm” setting.

Crockpot Pizza Dip
This Pizza Dip Recipe translates perfectly to the crockpot! Simply add your cream cheese, sour cream, oregano, garlic salt, pizza sauce, and a small handful of pepperonis to your crockpot and stir. Cook on high for 1-2 hours or low for 3-4. Remove the lid and stir everything well. Top with the mozzarella cheese and more pepperonis. Put the lid back on and cook for 15 more minutes until cheese is melted.

This.Is.A.Game.Changer!! My son and husband could eat cheese every day for the rest of their lives! I’m adding this to the list! Looks like you are having pita chips with it? What else have you used to dip into it?
We moved from Oahu last year and are now if Florida and I don’t miss all of the storms and Tsunami warnings that go along with living there! I hope you were safe and sound!!

Goldi
Aww Goldi, your husband and son sound just like my crew! We LOVE cheese!!! š And yes, we ate this with pita chips. I tried it with plain pita chips, and also with the italian herb (or garlic parmesan…can’t remember exactly now!) pita chips by Stacy’s, and I think they tasted best with those. I tried it on some club crackers and it was great, and i think it would be delicious on little slices of crusty bread, too! How cool that you were here on Oahu, too, and now in Florida! Soaking up the sunshine wherever you go sounds awesome. š We love it here, though like you said, there are a lot of hurricanes that pop up! Hope you and your family enjoy this dip!
I made something like this with chorizo sausage… sounds delicious. Pinned.
